Hello,

I am a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) with a focus on international family law and German citizenship law. I also enjoy legal history and constitutional law, although I try to keep that a secret, as it tends to attract the weirdo clients.

At University of Regensburg, I obtained a specialization in international law and European law. A considerable part of my legal training was spent in the United States. Before opening my own law firm, I worked as a foreign law advisor for the US Army JAG Corps in Germany.

You may not be interested in my travel stories from 66 countries or so, in many of which I lived for a considerable time. But I think it helps to have a lawyer who has seen a bit of the world. A lawyer who has been an immigrant himself. Even an illegal immigrant at one time. A lawyer who has been held at gunpoint, who has hitchhiked across Ukraine during wartime, and who has been to prison. Not any prison, but Evin prison in Iran, a truly ghastly place.

I have also returned to academia several times, completing an MA in philosophy, not completing a BA in economics (bloody math), and currently pursuing a BA in history.

So, if you are looking for someone who is narrowly focused on the law and nothing but the law, I ain’t your kind of guy. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a well-rounded personality with a talent for presenting your case in a compelling way, then maybe I am.

On this website, I have a boring part with my CV, a little bit about the areas of law I practice, some information about fees, and of course contact and other legally required information.

I offer consultations in German (obviously), English (fluent) and Spanish (except for Argentinians).

And even if you don’t need my services, you may want to browse my blog – either in English or in German – to learn more about law, history and the world.
